The Florida Smooth Jazz Festival
Join us for an afternoon and evening of music at beautiful Lake Concord Park in Casselberry, Florida–just minutes north of Orlando. Presented by the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation and produced by the Brevard Music Group,
you will be entertained by several of the most exciting artists in contemporary jazz today.
Opening the festival is up-and-coming saxophonist BK Jackson. When not touring as a sideman with Prince or vocalist Liv Warfield, he is electrifying audiences with his high energy solo shows.
First performing publicly at age 11, BK has already made a name for himself throughout Florida and the U.S. at the age of 22, winning the Fifth Annual Capital Jazz Festival Challenge in Columbia, M.D.
The Rippingtons Featuring
The GRAMMY®-nominated group The Rippingtons, formed by guitarist/composer Russ Freeman in 1987, has become synonymous with contemporary jazz, winning many awards, including the Most Influential Contemporary Jazz Album of All Time by Jazziz Magazine.
Originally including artists such as Kenny G and David Benoit, the current lineup includes founder Russ Freeman, Jeff Kashiwa on saxophone, Bill Heller on keyboards, Dave Karasony on drums, and Rico Belled on bass.
Norman Brown & Gerald Albright
GRAMMY® Award-winner Norman Brown first picked up a guitar at the age of eight. Initially inspired by Jimi Hendrix, he soon discovered his father’s favorite artist Wes Montgomery and this influence is unmistakable in Brown’s music.
The GRAMMY®-nominated saxophonist Gerald Albright, whether playing contemporary or straight-ahead jazz, stands in a class all by himself. Born in Los Angeles, Albright began piano lessons at an early age, but his love for music took off when he was given a saxophone that belonged to his piano teacher, and the rest is history!
